6月21日，中共中央总书记、国家主席习近平给北京大学的留学生们回信。在回信中，习近平总书记指出：“读懂今天的中国，必须读懂中国共产党。你们提到中国共产党致力于发展经济、消除贫困，积极援助其他国家抗击新冠肺炎疫情。中国共产党做这些事情，是因为中国共产党是为中国人民谋幸福的政党，也是为促进人类进步事业而奋斗的政党。” 这让在华留学生们深有感触。同时，习近平总书记在回信中说：“欢迎你们多到中国各地走走看看，更加深入地了解真实的中国，同时把你们的想法和体会介绍给更多的人，为促进各国人民民心相通发挥积极作用。” 这份寄语饱含深情，在华留学生表示，将携手向前，增进民心相通，为构建人类命运共同体贡献力量。

这封信在清华公管国际项目留学生中也引发了热烈反响。留学生们阅读习主席回信后深有感触，他们结合自身的所见所闻及所思所想，热烈回应，发表读信感言。

我完全同意习主席的观点。我在上海度过的时光可能是我一生中最美好的一年。我走访了全国20多个城市，亲眼目睹了中国的发展与进步。

“眼见为实”。世界上那么多人对中国存有刻板的印象，污名化中国人，却没有真正去过中国，也没有中国朋友。在相互尊重和理解的原则上，以及学习其他文化和实践的开放的基础上建立对话是很重要的。

I agree wholeheartedly with President Xi. My time spent in Shanghai was probably the best year of my life. I’ve seen firsthand China’s development and progress, having visited over 20 cities across China.

“Seeing is believing.” So many people around the world stereotype China and stigmatize the Chinese people without having ever visited China or having any Chinese friends. It is important to construct a dialogue on the principles of mutual respect and understanding and an openness to learn about other cultures and practices.

I am really moved by the level of humbleness President Xi always shows by been able to give quick reply to students’ letter. I saluted him for standing firm with CPC ideology for care of humanity; his personality demonstrated great leadership that is inspiring and admirable.

President Xi’s letter empathy the important of understanding Chinese culture and history in education perspective, acknowledging the value and important of international cooperation because education is very instrumental to global affairs. I thank him for his concerned with foreign student’s situations abroad, its signified hope and solidarity. I wish the president and Chinese happy centenary CPC celebration.

我也希望作为清华大学印尼学生会主席，通过人文交流，为促进印尼与中国的良好关系发挥作用，共建中国和印尼人民美好的命运共同体。

As President Xi's letter to PKU students has stated, more than ever we need to gain a deeper understanding of the values of the Chinese people. As an international student, I encourage my fellow students to build mutual respect and win-win cooperation between China and our respective country to tackle the covid-19 pandemic, alleviate poverty, and develop the economy.

I also hope to make an impact in encouraging good relations between Indonesia and China as the President of the Tsinghua University Indonesian Student Association through people-to-people exchanges to build a better Sino-Indonesian community with a shared future for mankind.

China is the largest economy in the world with high quality and trusting relationship. I am grateful for the experience of studying in a country that is currently the pilot of a successful country in carrying out national development. I am well aware that there are many things that I can bring and implement in our country based on the experiences I have acquired as I studied in China. It is relevant to the saying President Xi mentioned: “Seeing is believing” It means the experience will be acquired by directly seeing it. This saying has really encouraged me a lot. It enlightened me that studying in China is a great experience for me and it is really grateful to have had this chance of experience.

我很喜欢回信里的一段话，“眼见为实”，习近平主席说邀请海外学生走访更多的地方，通过我们自己的方式看中国。

我可以见证中国在中国共产党领导下的发展。八年前（2013年）我去过广东清远和广西的一些城市，2019年又去了一次，和我2013年看到的景象完全不一样，那里人的生活水平提高了很多。

I really like one paragraph there, "Seeing is believing," said Xi, inviting overseas students to visit more parts of the country, seeing China through our own eyes.

I can witness the development of China under the guidance of the CPC. I visited Qingyuan, Guangdong and some cities in Guangxi like 8 years ago (2013), and revisited it again in 2019. They are completely different from what I saw in 2013, the living standard of people there are much higher.
