百十年清华，人文日新。清华有着悠久的文科传统和深厚的人文积淀。1925年，国学研究院成立；1926年，分设国文、外文、历史、哲学、政治学、经济学、社会学、教育心理学、东方语言学等系科；1928年，设立了文学院和法学院。众多学术大师云集清华，形成了“中西融会、古今贯通、文理渗透”的办学特色。清华文科现有12个院系、950多名全职教师，人文、社科、管理和艺术各学科整体推进，一些优势学科跻身国际国内前列，蜚声中外。

Tsinghua University was established in 1911, originally under the name “Tsing Hua Imperial College”. The campus of Tsinghua University is situated in northwest Beijing on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty, and surrounded by a number of historical sites.

Sinceits founding, Tsinghua greatly valued the interaction between Chinese and Western cultures, sciences and humanities, the ancient and the modern. Tsinghua scholars Wang Guowei, Liang Qichao, Chen Yinque and Zhao Yuanren, renowned as the “Four Tutors” in the Institute of Chinese Classics, advocated this belief and had a profound impact on Tsinghua\'s later development.

Today, Tsinghua has developed into a comprehensive research university. At present, it has 21 schools and 59 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art. With the motto of “Self-discipline and Social Commitment” and the spirit of “Actions Speak Louder Than Words”, it is dedicated to the well-being of Chinese society and to world development.

Humanities and social sciences at Tsinghua date back to the 1920s when the Institute of Chinese Classics was established, together with the later-on emergence of other subjects of humanities and social sciences. Today, disciplines of humanities and social sciences at Tsinghua have become prestigious across the nation and some of them have reached world-class level. To accelerate the development of humanities and social sciences is among the top priorities in the University\'s agenda. Hopefully, humanities and social sciences will become one of the driving forces in the University\'s journey towards a top world-class university.

Recruitment Positions

清华大学全面实施教研系列教师岗位准聘长聘（Tenure-track）制度。教研系列职位包括助理教授、准聘副教授、长聘副教授和教授。清华文科还专门设立了人文讲席教授、文科资深教授等席位，加大对顶尖人才的支持和激励。

本次招聘面向全球人文社会科学领域优秀学者，招聘岗位为教研系列教师，主要包括顶尖学者和杰出学者两个层次，部分学科方向也接受准聘副教授和助理教授的岗位申请，招聘岗位具体参见附表。同时，特别设立高级访问教授岗位，邀请具备卓越学术水平的学者来清华访学交流，开展教学科研活动。

The recruitment targets mainlydistinguished scholarsandoutstanding scholars. We plan to recruit prominent academics with remarkable scholarly records to join Tsinghua as tenured professors, as well as tenure-track assistant and associate professors in some disciplines (as shown in the list of positions attached below). We will conduct open searches across all fields of humanities and social sciences.

Apart from positions in the normal tenure-track system, we have set up positions of Chair Professor and Distinguished Professor of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences to support and honor distinguished scholars.

Meantime, we also welcome scholars to come asSenior Visiting Professors, specially set up to invite those with outstanding academic achievement to visit Tsinghua for teaching and research. The list of positions is attached below.

顶尖学者Distinguished Scholars

聘任岗位：长聘教授，特别杰出的学者可授予人文讲席教授。

-已在所从事领域取得国际公认的重大研究成果，做出了突破性的原创学术贡献，产生了突出的学术影响，展现出杰出的学术领导力；

-国内外大学终身教授，或研究机构相当职位或水平的高层次人才；

-年龄一般不超过55周岁。

Positions Offered: Professor (especially world-renowned scholars can be awarded Chair Professor in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences)

Requirements:

- Record of internationally-recognized achievement in his/her field, original academic contributions, and demonstrable outstanding academic leadership;

- Full professors at universities in China or abroad, or with equivalent appointment standards, or with equivalent positions or levels at research institutions in China and abroad.

杰出学者Outstanding Scholars

聘任岗位：长聘教授、长聘副教授

-已在所从事领域取得突出的原创性成果并受到广泛认可，展现出了出色的学术领导力，具有成长为本领域顶尖学者的素质和潜力；

-国内外大学的终身教授、副教授或达到相当聘任标准，或研究机构相当职位或水平的人才；

-原则上45岁以下，特别优秀者可以放宽到50岁。

Positions Offered: Professor or Tenured Associate Professor

Requirements:

- Outstanding record of original achievements in his/her field, demonstrable strong academic leadership, and great potential to top his/her field in the near future;

- Tenured professors or associate professors at universities in China or abroad, or with equivalent appointment standards, or with equivalent positions or levels at research institutions in China and abroad.

高级访问教授 Senior Visiting Professors

聘任岗位：高级访问教授或副教授

-国内外大学教授、副教授；或研究机构相当职位或水平的高层次人才；

-研究方向和访问院系学科发展规划契合，有明确的访学计划；

-原则一般不超过60岁，身体健康状况良好。

Positions Offered: Senior Visiting Professor or Associate Professor

Requirements:

- Professors and associate professors at universities worldwide with international reputation, or with equivalent appointment standards, or with equivalent positions or levels at research institutions in China and abroad;

- Fits with the development plan of the host department/school and has a clear visiting plan.
