  二、Deadlines & Interview


  For Degree Applicants:


  All foreign applicants who apply for IMBA program and Chinese MBA program are required to send their application forms before May 29, 2010. The School of International Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, will review the application materials. Antai College of Economics & Management, SJTU will organize the interview for the qualified degree applicants.

  For Exchange Applicants:


  Exchange applicants are required to send their application forms before November 15, 2009 for the Spring Semester and Apirl 15, 2010 for the Fall Semester. The applicants who are recommended by their home university will be accepted without interview.

  2)  Official diploma (or notarial certificate of highest degree) (required for both degree applicants and exchange applicants). Certificate not in Chinese or English must be accompanied by certified translations.


  3)  Official university transcript (for degree applicants only) or MBA transcript from home university (for exchange applicants only)


  4)  Resumes (required for both degree applicants and exchange applicants)


  5)  Two reference letters from the applicant’s previous professors or managers (required for both degree applicants and exchange applicants)


  6)  Financial Statement (Deposit certificate with the amount of full tuition issued by the bank. For degree applicants only)

  六、Language of Instruction


  For IMBA program, all courses are taught in English.


  For Chinese MBA program, most of the courses are taught in Chinese.

  For exchange students, language proficiency is not required.


  八、Academic/Experience Requirements


  (1) A bachelor’s degree with minimum three years’ working experience after graduation.


  (2) College graduates with minimum five years’ working experience after graduation.


  九、Learning Expectations


  Classes are conducted in seminar style. The average class size is about 55.


  Assessment is based on a combination of different methods includes:


  (a) Group Presentation and Report


  (b) Project


  (c) Class Participation


  (d) Mid-Term Assessment


  (e) Final Examination


  The weight given for each assessment varies in different courses.  The total weight will be 100%.


  十、Grading


  Grades assigned based on the following:

 

A+ = 96~100
A = 90~95
 A- =   85~89     
B+ = 80~84
B = 75~79
B- = 70~74
C+ = 67~69
C = 63~66
C- = 60~62
D   = 20~59
 
 


  1 credit =18 teaching hours, 1 teaching hour = 45 minutes


  Normally one course is worth 2 or 3 credits.


  十一、Exams


  Exams will be in the form of written tests or projects. Exchange students will participate in exams and projects as regular full-time IMBA students do.


  十二、Dissertation


  All MBA students are required to finish a dissertation after the completion of all courses. For IMBA program, the dissertation could be written in English with a detailed Chinese abstract (about 7000 Chinese words).


  十三、Degree and Certificates


  Degree candidates, who have obtained 52 credits and finished a dissertation as required will be awarded with Shanghai Jiao Tong University MBA degree and graduation diploma.


  Exchange students are required to pass at least 3 courses and will be granted a certificate for the successful completion of the exchange study.

  十六、Tuition


  For International applicants, the whole program’s tuition is RMB 148,000 (for 2010 enrollment). Program tuition will be paid in two annual installments.


  Exchange students are usually exempt from tuition.


  For non-exchange students, the tuition is RMB 2,740 per credit; usually one IMBA course is of 3 credits.

  十七、Accommodation:


  Dormitory on campus: room reservation should be made at application submission. If the dormitory at your choice is full, we will no longer accept any room reservation. The accommodation fees for the university dormitories are paid at the beginning of each semester and will not be refunded if you leave during the semester.

  Each room is equipped with bath tub, color TV, direct-dial telephone, air-conditioner and internet connection. Additional facilities such as kitchen, refrigerator and washing-machine are in public area for public use.

  二十、Student Activities


  The SJTU MBA Alumni Association (MBAAA) organizes a variety of professional development and social activities during the academic year; most of the events are open to international and exchange students. International and exchange students are encouraged to join the SJTU MBAAA.


  MBA Forum is held every Saturday. It provides students with the forefront academic information, advanced management conception and precious business experience. International and exchange students are encouraged to attend.
