　　I. Course Description

　　This course mainly aims to provide you a general knowledge about the Japanese language, which can give you a basic ability in the communication with the native speakers. Besides, this course will give an introduction of the Japanese culture, and the learners can have a comparison investigation between the Japanese culture and the Chinese, based on the language skill.

　　II. Teaching Methods and Learning Strategies

　　The primary methods of instruction are reading, listening and speaking and writing lectures. The instructor leads class discussion and gives an introduction of the Japanese culture. Students are expected to actively participate in class discussion and other organized class activities.
