MBAChina网讯】Born to a family of Sierra Leonean Creators and Innovators in London, Miatta has over 10 years of media publishing experience, ranging from Sales, Project Management and Global Client Services.Miatta Momoh now finds herself in Beijing with enhance cross-cultural management experience.Miatta, 2016IMBA,Since August 2016, she has already managed content and marketing for a range of Chinese based companies.

She continues to build successful global partnerships, working on the launch of China’s first ever International Innovation Incubator, with Zhongguancun Belt and Road Industrial Promotion Association (ZBRA).

It has been a phenomenal two years of going deep inside and beyond Management disciplines, at Guanghua. I have thoroughly enjoyed challenging subjects like Financial Accounting where I grasped a new level of respect for all my Accountant friends.

I relished in classes focusing on the international perspective to business in China, which were run by Professor Paul Gillis. I learnt a lot of new insights on how to drive business effectively using data via Professor Hanson’s classes, where “Team Tada!” was also formed too. Team Tada were a dynamic team, who utilised creativity and analytical skills well and delivered compelling business solutions.

Moreover, elective courses were also great places for academic and practical growth. Classes like CSR, the Art and Science of PR, Entrepreneurship in China and Social Entrepreneurship possessed so much quality content that was relevant to my own Social Enterprise Startup Ambitions.

I think I grew and learnt the most in Professor Hanson’s Data Class and Richard Robinson’s Entrepreneurship in China Class. The Theory and Practical teaching was brilliant. I loved the use of industry Experts and Practitioners sharing their experience, as well as the opportunity to develop my own business ideas. I am interested in developing my own business and business development for other companies, so I feel that these classes helped me create the best learning impact for this career path.

There was a great mix of Students from all over the world present at GSM and I appreciated the opportunity to build relationships with the Chinese F Class, but also new exchange Students too.

Beijing has a “charming chaos” that is attractive. I loved the fast-paced and dynamic city full of great networking opportunities, interesting social activities and innovation. I particularly loved my time volunteering at Beijing International Christian Fellowship (BICF) Church, and I loved socialising with professional working friends in the eclectic Hutongs too.

If I had another opportunity I would apply to Guanghua again, but I would ask if I could also have more help with Chinese. This is an International program, but there still is a lot of limitations to sourcing information to support your studies, without a better proficiency in Mandarin. I think I would try and spend more time learning Mandarin too.

I was grateful that God had opened this exciting educational door, and I was open to embrace what the experience could offer my personal and career development.
