Distinguished Speaker Series
Mr. Antonio Horta-Osorio, Chief Executive of Lloyds Banking Group, will talk about the impact of the financial crisis on the reputation of the banking sector and on the career choices of younger members of the community.
He will argue that banks are putting their house in order and that their recent difficulties should not be allowed to distract from the attractions of a career in a sector that lies at the heart, not only of the British economy, but also of local communities.
A leading expert in finance with global experience, Antonio has served on numerous banking groups boards and has first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing the banking industry following the financial crisis.
Antonio Horta-Osorio has been leading the Lloyds Banking Group as Chief Executive since 2011 and was previously Chief Executive of Santander UK plc. He was Executive Vice President of Grupo Santander and Chairman of Santander Totta until 2011, where he was CEO between 2000‐2006. Prior to that he was CEO of Banco Santander Brazil.
