The USC Marshall School of Business announced a trio of distinguished alumni set to address both undergraduates and graduates at commencement ceremonies on May 17. Alumni Robert B. McKnight and Hans Hufschmid will be the keynote speakers for, respectively, the USC Marshall Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony and the USC Marshall Graduate Commencement Ceremony. Alumnus Reg Harpur will address the Leventhal School of Accounting.

McKnight ’76 is co-founder and executive chairman of Quiksilver, the Huntington Beach-based surf brand that ranks as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of surf and board-sport clothing and gear. Under his leadership, Quiksilver has grown from a start-up in a Newport Beach garage to an international brand with $2 billion in annual sales. The brand, which also includes Roxy, DC, Lib Tech and Hawk, is sold in 90 countries and has more than 600 stores globally. Its surf team roster includes 11-time world champion Kelly Slater and up-and-comers such as Huntington Beach’s Kanoa Igarashi.

Hufschmid ’83 is the co-founder and former chair and CEO of GlobeOp Financial Services, a leading fund administrator that provides the world’s most comprehensive array of financial technology products and services under a public, independent, single platform. As chair and CEO, Hufschmid helped build and expand the company, adding more than 2,500 employees across New York, London and India. In 2012, GlobeOp Financial Services was acquired by SS&C Technologies Holdings; the combined entity, called SS&C GlobeOp, is one of the financial market’s leading fund service providers, managing 6,700 funds and a combined $424 billion in assets under management.

Reg Harpur is senior vice president and controller for the Warner Bros. Entertainment Group (WBEG). He is responsible for the worldwide controllership of Time Warner’s Film and TV Entertainment segment, as well as the division’s financial planning, treasury and tax functions, and jointly oversees the division’s HR / Payroll shared services group. During his tenure with Warner Bros., Harpur has been responsible for directing a number of process change, organizational efficiency and integration initiatives. Prior to joining Warner Bros. in 1992, Harpur was a partner with Ernst & Young. A graduate of the University of Southern California, he currently serves as a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of USC’s Marshall School of Business.
