On March 24th, School’s Jiangsu Liaison Office of Alumni Center organized a spring excursion to Taicang for alumni of Fudan-BI (Norwegian) MBA Program. This Join&Share activity was enthusiastically attended by nearly 40 alumni and their family from not only Taicang but also neighboring areas such as Shanghai, Suzhou, and Ningbo.

In the morning, the alumni arrived at the first stop of this trip, OASE, a water design company for which Ya SHEN, an alum from the MBA7 class, is currently working. Mr. SHEN gave a brief introduction to this German-funded company. Fascinated by the German corporate culture, Lei LI, an alumnus from the CMP8 class, indicated he would like to arrange students of his school to come to this company for internships. Marc, an alumnus from the MBA11 class, also expressed his hope to see more visits to companies like this one in the activities held by Join&Share so that he will have more opportunities to learn how companies operate in China.

Then Mr. SHEN led the rest of the alumni to the next stop, Jiangsu (Taicang) LOFT Industrial Design Park, located in the CBD of Taicang. Rebuilt in the 1990s, this park is the first incubation base of innovative industrial designs in Jiangsu Province. It takes on the design of Bauhaus minimalism, occupying an area of 30,000 m2with a total floor area of 36,000 m2.

During the activity, BI-MBA Director, Huizhong XU, indicated this trip was a great opportunity for the alumni to exchange with and learn from each other so as to maximize the values of the MBA program. “Our goal is to provide a platform for everyone to get together and innovate together,” said XU.

After the visit to an ancient town in Shaxi, the alumni then visited the Taicang Agriculture Technology Park. Jiefeng ZHU from the CMP8 class especially invited Deputy Director of the Taicang Agriculture Commission to give a tour, allowing the attending alumni to know more about modern agriculture development. The sunset marked the end of this pleasant and informative trip. All the participants looked forward to another excursion like this in the near future.
